The Government is expected to come under fire today after announcing a range of new stealth taxes to help fund spending plans for next year.

Yesterday, Finance Minister Charlie McCreevy announced plans to raise €91m through the imposition of the new taxes to fund the €40bn spending package unveiled in his Book of Estimates.
