Gardaí investigate attempted abduction in Limerick

Gardaí in Limerick are investigating an apparent attempt to abduct a woman in the city in the early hours of this morning.

Gardaí said three men wearing balaclavas attempted to abduct the woman as she entered her home in the Singland Gardens area of Ballysimon this morning.

A taxi driver came to the woman’s assistance and the three masked men fled the scene.

At around the same time, eight shots were fired at a house in the Moyross area of the city.

The shooting in Delmege Park may have been designed to attract Gardaí to Moyross while the attempted abduction was taking place in Ballysimon.
