Greens criticise planned Peamount Hospital closure
The Green Party has expressed its opposition to the Government’s plans to close Peamount Hospital in Dublin, Ireland’s main TB treatment centre.
Health Minister Micheál Martin is planning to close the hospital in the near future and transfer its TB services to St James’ Hospital.
Doctors at Peamount claim their hospital has the lowest TB mortality rate in the world.
The Green Party has said that losing such a successful facility while the incidence of TB was on the rise would be a step in the wrong direction.
