Petition underway for rights-based Bill
A coalition of disability groups is due to launch a petition today to garner support for demands for rights-based disabilities legislation.
The groups want the Government’s proposed Disability Bill to give disabled people a right to access certain services and a right to sue the State if these services are not provided.
However, the Government is resisting the introduction of such laws.
Disability groups have asked people to sign a national petition in support of their demands.
