Disabled graduates urge employers to avoid discrimination

The National Forum for Graduates with Disabilities is calling on more private employers to take on disabled people.

The forum held its first National Conference in University College Dublin today.

Regulations require the Government to honour a 3% employment quota, but the private sector is exempt.

Professor John Kelly says this makes for widespread "unreasonable discrimination" against his members.

He said: "One of the tasks of the new forum is to research this discrimination… and see what appropriate action can be taken."
