Cases of flu in Ireland have more than doubled in the past fortnight and it is estimated there are now 70 cases for every 100,000 people.

Cases of flu in Ireland have more than doubled in the past fortnight and it is estimated there are now 70 cases for every 100,000 people.

The National Disease Surveillance Centre is advising people in high-risk categories to get vaccinated against influenza.

It applies especially to those over-65, those with heart or lung disease, children or teenagers, residents of nursing homes and health care workers.
