Government to review legal system
A major review of the legal and courts system as well as an examination of garda resources in Limerick is to be undertaken by the Minister for Justice following the collapse of a murder trial yesterday.
Liam Keane, 19 and from Limerick, accused of the murder of Eric Leamy in the Lee Estate in Limerick in August of last year, yesterday walked free from the Criminal Court.
It followed the refusal of six key State witnesses to give evidence.
