Talks to try and prevent the shut down of the country's three main airports tomorrow have broken up to allow unions to consider a proposal aimed at averting the move by Aer Rianta workers.

Unions earlier indicated that tomorrow's two-hour stoppage at Cork, Dublin and Shannon Airports is due to go ahead as planned but it's now hoped an 11th hour deal may be worked out.
