The National Safety Council has warned that all Halloween bonfires should be located in a safe place, away from electricity cables, and should be supervised by adults.

The National Safety Council has warned that all Halloween bonfires should be located in a safe place, away from electricity cables, and should be supervised by adults.

It also said exclusion zones should be set up around all fires.

The council has warned Halloween revellers not to use petrol or parafin to light bonfires, not to throw fireworks on the fires, not to use tyres in the fires and to pour water on the embers at the end of the night.
