Newry police appeal for car-jacking witnesses

Police in Newry are appealing for witnesses to an overnight car hi-jacking.

A man was sitting in his car outside a hotel in the Merchant's Quay area of the town shortly before midnight.

A lone gunman approached the silver Volkswagen Golf and ordered the man out of the vehicle, before driving off.

The gunman is described as being 5 feet 10 inches tall, of medium build, with dark hair. He was wearing a dark-coloured baseball cap during the incident.
