INOU seeks rise in social welfare payments

The Irish National Organisation for the Unemployed has called on Finance Minister Charlie McCreevy to increase weekly social welfare payments to €150 in this year’s budget.

The Irish National Organisation for the Unemployed has called on Finance Minister Charlie McCreevy to increase weekly social welfare payments to €150 in this year’s budget.

The request, which is contained in the INOU’s pre-budget submission, would represent an increase of €15.60 in basic weekly payments.
