A study of drug use in Ireland has contradicted last week’s UN report claiming Irish youngsters were among the highest amphetamine users in the world.

A study by the Government’s National Advisory Committee on Drugs and the North’s Drug and Alcohol Information and Research Unit of drug use in Ireland revealed that just 4% of people in the Republic and 6% in the North have tried ecstasy at least once.
