Injured woman rescued from Mweelrea Mountain

The Mayo mountain rescue team was called out last night to help a woman who broke her ankle while walking on Mweelrea Mountain near Leenane.

The Mayo mountain rescue team was called out last night to help a woman who broke her ankle while walking on Mweelrea Mountain near Leenane.

The woman tripped and broke her ankle at around 7pm.

Rescuers reached her at around 11pm and brought her to hospital in Castlebar for treatment.
