British-Irish Parliamentary conference kicks off today
Representatives from the Irish and British governments will meet in England later today for the 27th British Irish Inter-Parliamentary Conference.
During the next three days the conference will discuss a number of issues including the EU draft constitution, a report on the Sellafield nuclear reprocessing plant and a proposal for increased co-operation between the gardaà and British police forces on awarding penalty points to dangerous drivers.
Tomorrow the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, Paul Murphy, will face questions on the continuing developments in the North and the possibility for fresh Assembly elections.
