Fine Gael calls for recognition of home workers

Deputy Michael Ring, the Fine Gael's spokesman on Social and Family Affairs, says its disgraceful that the Taoiseach has failed to give a voice to the organisation representing women who stay at home to rear their families, or care for elderly or sick people.

The group, Women in the Home (WITH) had sought inclusion in the National Social Partnership Talks, but the Government rejected the request.

The Fine Gael TD is calling on the Government to recognise the contribution to society by those who choose to work in the home.
