A demonstration is expected to take place outside the monthly meeting of Dun Laoghaire/Rathdown County Council tonight at 7pm to protest council threats to discontinue refuse collection to householders who have not paid bin tax.

The demonstration organised by the Dun Laoghaire/Rathdown Campaign Against Service Charges will assemble outside the Town Hall on Marine Road, Dun Laoghaire.

Protestors have claimed the council has tried to scupper the meeting by instructing litter wardens to pull down all the posters advertising the demonstration.

Earlier today protestors blocked bin collection in south Dublin.
