SIPTU to unveil Aer Rianta strike plans
Officials at SIPTU are set to unveil plans today for industrial action at the country's three major airports.
The 1,400 SIPTU staff in Aer Rianta are opposed to plans to break up the airport authority into three separate companies.
The union says strike action could occur during Ireland's presidency of the EU next year.
Michael Halpenny, of SIPTU, says Transport Minister Seamus Brennan’s assurances that no jobs would be lost do not go far enough.
