FAI workers to begin strike today

Twenty-five SIPTU members at FAI (Football Association of Ireland) headquarters are to begin strike action this morning.

Employees say the association has reneged on an agreement to introduce a pension scheme for members.

SIPTU official John White says frustration among staff is so high that they felt they had no alternative but to take industrial action.

The 25 employees are due to picket company headquarters in Merrion Square Dublin from 9am.
