FAI workers to go on strike on Monday

Twenty-five SIPTU members employed at the FAI headquarters in Merrion Square, Dublin, will begin strike action on Monday morning, it was revealed today.

The dispute centres on a dispute surrounding pension schemes, according to SIPTU Official, John White.

"The FAI have reneged on an agreement to introduce a pension scheme for our members. Just when we thought we had concluded negotiations on the implementation of a pension scheme, the FAI management told us that they wanted to renegotiate the deal."

There will be pickets at the FAI headquarters at Merrion Square, and the Athletic Union League complex in Clonshaugh on Monday morning.

He said that the members had the support of senior management at the FAI and that they intend to look for a sanction for an all-out picket from the Irish Congress of Trade Unions.
