Bishop: Debate needed on homosexuality in Church
Church of Ireland Bishop Richard Henderson has expressed the need for an open minded debate to be held on the issue of homosexuality within the Church.
In his address at the Annual Synod in Tuam today, the Bishop of Tuam said the sexuality issue could not continue to be ignored within the Church, adding that any debate on it would be about real people.
Reacting this evening, Church of Ireland Reverend Patrick Towers, who recently blessed a lesbian marriage here, said there is nothing new in the Bishop's comments and feels a debate on the issue is long overdue.
