In a Faulty Towers-like scenario, wedding guests are recovering from shock this morning following the collapse of a ceiling in a hotel in Kildare.

In a Fawlty Towers-like scenario, wedding guests are recovering from shock this morning following the collapse of a ceiling in a hotel in Kildare.

Emergency services evacuated the Setanta Hotel when part of the ceiling caved in on top of guests and staff.

One man was taken to hospital with leg injuries as a result of the incident.

Other guests have suffered minor injuries.

Two wedding receptions and a teenage disco were taking place at the time. An investigation is being carried out into the incident.
