Diabetes Federation holds fun cycle in Howth

The Diabetes Federation of Ireland is holding a charity fun cycle this morning in aid of diabetes.

The cycle is due to start about now at Howth village and it is set to attract thousands of riders.

Dave Southern of the federation says that diabetes affects about 100,000 people in Ireland, with a further 100,000 people unaware that they have the condition.

He says education is the key to awareness of this epidemic.
