POA to ballot members on new overtime proposals

The Prison Officers Association is planning to ballot its members over new proposals on overtime.

Talks between the POA and the Prison Service collapsed last night and the association is now requesting the Director of the Prison Service outline its full offer in writing, so it can be put to a vote.

Prison overtime costs €60m each year. The prison service wants to cut back on the additional expenditure.
