The people needed to oversee the policing of the Government’s proposed ban on smoking in Irish workplaces are reportedly not being hired due to Department of Finance cutbacks.

Health Minister Micheál Martin has asked for the appointment of a Director of Tobacco Control in each of Ireland’s health boards to oversee the enforcement of the proposed ban.
