Red Cross on training drive for European First Aid Day

Around 20,000 lives could be saved every year, if just one in 10 people knew First Aid, according to the Red Cross.

The organisation is holding training seminars in 46 locations around the country today to mark European First Aid Day.

The organisation has trained well over 10,000 people here in the last year-and-a-half.

Spokesperson Siobhan Magee said they're hoping to encourage more people to learn some relatively easy skills.
