Unions and Govt to discuss proposed CIE break-up
Unions representing workers at CIE are due to meet government officials today to discuss Transport Minister Seamus Brennan’s plans to break up the company and privatise 25% of Dublin Bus routes.
The unions have accepted the need for reform at CIE, but they have vowed to fight Mr Brennan’s plans, saying they would lead to job losses and a deteriorating service to the public.
