EHRA receives funding to free up beds

The Eastern Regional Authority says it has received funding to free up beds inappropriately used in acute hospitals.

It hopes to vacate one hundred beds in the east of the country under the new initiative.

It comes as the Irish Nurses Organisation revealed that up to 38 patients are waiting on trolleys for treatment at Beaumont Hospital alone today.
