SIPTU slams latest overcrowding problems at Beaumont A&E
SIPTU has expressed its growing frustration at the unresolved problems of overcrowding in the accident and emergency unit of Dublin’s Beaumont Hospital.
The trade union said 38 patients were left lying on trolleys in the A&E unit this morning.
Spokesman Oliver McDonagh said: "The unions will not sit back and allow this to happen. It is grossly unfair on the staff, who are trying to cope in such circumstances, and extremely distressing for patients and their families, who are left waiting around not knowing if they will be admitted to hospital or sent home."
