Education Minister Noel Dempsey has reportedly indicated that the decision to change the remit of the Commission to Inquire into Child Abuse was made by the entire cabinet and not by him alone.

Justice Mary Laffoy resigned as chair of the commission earlier this week just hours after Mr Dempsey announced his plans to review the work of the inquiry.
