De Rossa wants more funds for Daphne programme

Irish MEP Proinsias de Rossa has called on EU member states to approve proposals for a 30% increase in the budget of the EU’s anti-domestic violence programme.

Mr de Rossa said 92 women had been murdered in Ireland in the past eight years, at least 22 of them by their partner or ex-partner.
