Twenty-two TDs from six Dublin/Meath constituencies will face airport workers at a meeting on Thursday to present their views on Minister Seamus Brennan's proposals to break up Aer Rianta.

Dermot O'Loughlin, chairperson of the ICTU Irish Airports Group, conducted a survey among workers at Dublin Airport, 90% of whom live in six Dublin/Meath constituencies.

O'Loughlin said over 700 trade unionists responded to the survey, and each had approximately four persons in their household aged over 18, indicating a substantial number of potential voters in Dublin Airport.

"We intend to find out whether or not the TDs which represent the workers in the Dublin North, Dublin North Central, Dublin North East, Dublin West, Dublin North East and Meath constituencies, are for or against the proposals to break up Aer Lingus," he said.
