The Department of Foreign Affairs has said the Irish Embassy in London is monitoring the case of a one-year-old Irish citizen being held at a detention centre for asylum seekers in Scotland.

The Department of Foreign Affairs has said the Irish Embassy in London is monitoring the case of a one-year-old Irish citizen being held at a detention centre for asylum seekers in Scotland.

The baby girl and her mother, who is from Cameroon, were arrested by British immigration officials in the North more than two weeks ago while travelling back to Dublin following a visit to Scotland.
