Gun attack 'linked to gang feud'
An attack in which a man was injured when shots were fired through his kitchen window could be linked to a gang feud, gardaí believe.
Anthony Kelly, 46, suffered gunshot wounds to his chest and arm when a man opened fire at the rear of the house in Kilrush, Co Clare, just after 11pm last night.
He was taken to hospital where he was said to be in a stable condition this afternoon.
Gardaí are investigating the possibility that the shooting could be linked to the activities of feuding gangs in nearby Limerick.
Mr Kelly is known to garda officers and was once forced to pay money over to the Criminal Assets Bureau.
A major garda investigation into the shooting was under way and the scene of the attack was sealed off for technical examinations.
A confrontation took place between television cameramen and a group of people outside Mr Kelly’s house earlier today but no arrests were made.
