The Director of Consumer Affairs, Carmel Foley, has ordered that a number of novelty candle products be withdrawn from sale because of the danger they pose to users.

The Director of Consumer Affairs, Carmel Foley, has ordered that a number of novelty candle products be withdrawn from sale because of the danger they pose to users.

Ms Foley said her office surveyed 482 candle products and found that one-quarter of them lacked adequate safety warnings or were so clearly unsafe that they should not have been on the market.
