FF TD calls for crackdown on credit card fraud
Fianna Fáil TD Charlie O'Connor has called on Irish banks to introduce tougher measures to protect their customers from credit card fraud.
Mr O'Connor said almost €5m was lost annually due to credit card fraud in Ireland.
He said the banks should consider introducing photo IDs on personal credit cards in an effort to address the problem.
"The banks should be more proactive, they should be responsible," he said. "It's time that the banks protected the customer and I'm calling on them to do so."
