Body of Irish priest returns after 50 years

The remains of an Irish priest shot dead in the Philippines more than 50 years ago have been flown back to Ireland.

Fr Tommy Flynn, a Colombian missionary, was killed by government loyalists during a raid on a village in Labrador on October 30, 1950.

His remains were traced by another Irish priest in the Philippines who was contacted by Fr Flynn's niece last year.

Fr Flynn will be reburied in his home town of Kilkishen in Co Clare on Monday by the same priest who buried him in the Philippines after his death.
