Driving test failure rate 'almost 50%'

The Department of the Environment has revealed that almost 50% of people who took the driving test last year failed.

The Driving Instructors' Register, which represents three-quarters of Ireland's driving instructors, said the figures showed that driver education was not being taken seriously by both motorists and the Government.
