Pedestrian killed by jeep in Cork overnight

One man has died following a road traffic accident in Cork.

The accident happened on the Knocknagree/Rathmore road around one mile from Knocknagree village.

The dead man, aged fifty-six and from Kerry, was walking along the road when he was struck by a jeep shortly before 1.45am this morning.

He was pronounced dead on arrival at Mallow General Hospital.

Gardaí at Millstreet in Cork are investigating
