Eleven road accident victims released from Ennis Hospital

The eleven people who were taken to hospital in Co Clare following two separate road traffic accidents yesterday evening, have all been released.

The first accident occurred shortly before 5pm on the Kilnaboy to Kilfenora road at Roughan.

Eight people were injured when two cars collided head-on at a bend.

One of the vehicles was carrying a group of French tourists and according to witnesses that car appeared to have been driving on the wrong side of the road.

The second accident happened on the Fanore road out of Lisdoonvarna in the north of the county at around 6pm.

Three people were injured when the car in which they were travelling apparently lost control and overturned.
