FÁS decision could lead to 300 redundancies
Over 300 people face the prospect of redundancy because of a FÁS decision to cut the number of places on the Jobs Initiative Programme.
Dublin and Limerick are to be hardest hit by the cuts, which are part of a wider clawback in spending on Social Services.
The job places are due to be cut over the next three months.
General Secretary of the Irish National Organisation of the Unemployed, Eric Conroy, said that it was a very short-sighted move.
