One new case of BSE was recorded in Ireland last week, according to figures released today by the Department of Agriculture.

One new case of BSE was recorded in Ireland last week, according to figures released today by the Department of Agriculture.

The disease was detected in an eight-year-old dairy cow in Cork.

120 BSE cases have been recorded in Ireland so far this year, compared to 215 in the same period last year.
