Ship collides with buoy in Shannon estuary

Coastguard officials in Limerick are investigating a collision between a 32,000-tonne ship and a navigational buoy in the Shannon estuary this morning.

The Panamanian-registered vessel was en route to Limerick with a cargo of aluminium ore when it hit the buoy.
