UN Ambassador: Ireland has major role to play
A US Ambassador to the United Nations has said Ireland can play a major role next year in addressing global problems.
Sichan Siv is in Dublin as part of a 10-country tour in advance of the 58th General Assembly of the UN.
Ambassador Siv discussed human rights, the Middle East, cloning and HIV/Aids with officials from the Department of Foreign Affairs this afternoon, and has told the country that it can influence world opinion next year when its presides over the EU.
