Davis denies UUP leadership challenge
A loyal supporter of Ulster Unionist leader David Trimble has denied speculation that the anti-agreement faction of the party is preparing an attempt to oust Mr Trimble from the leadership.
Ivan Davis, the UUP's chief whip in the suspended Northern Assembly, said: "There is loose talk from unnamed sources designed to convey the impression that support for the party leader from the Assembly is in question.
"That is not the case. The party leader retains the support of the Assembly team."
