Garda inquiry nurse is suspended

A meeting of An Bórd Altranais is due to take place following the suspension of a nurse from Naas General Hospital who is the subject of a Garda inquiry.

An investigation into the amount of medication she had administered has led to the exhumation of a body in Co Wicklow.

A post mortem is being carried out on the remains of a man in his 70s, which was removed from a cemetery in Baltinglass.

A spokesman for the nursing board says the matter will be discussed at a meeting to be arranged in the next few days.

The South Western Health Area Board has launched a separate inquiry.
