The Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, is due to visit Austria and Slovenia today as part of his preparations for Ireland's accession to the EU presidency next January.

Mr Ahern will meet with Austrian Chancellor Wolfgang Schussel and Slovenian Prime Minister Anton Rop.
