Ministers discuss new Garda inspectorate

The Cabinet is due to discuss plans to establish an independent Garda inspectorate when it meets in Dublin tomorrow.

Justice Minister Michael McDowell plans to set up the inspectorate to replace the current system whereby gardaí investigate complaints made against their own colleagues.
