Taoiseach to meet Spanish Prime Minister

Taoiseach Bertie Ahern is due to meet Spanish Prime Minister Jose Maria Aznar during a one-day trip to Spain today.

The visit is part of Mr Ahern's preparations for Ireland's accession to the EU presidency next January.

Mr Ahern will brief his Spanish counterpart on Ireland's preparations for the six-month stint at the EU helm.
