CIE taking action to regain wages lost

Iarnrod Eireann, Dublin Bus and Bus Eireann are to recoup wages paid to staff involved in yesterday's 'no fares' protest, which provided a day of free public transport.

The three companies are expected to write to the CIE unions on Monday to inform them to refer to the Labour Relations Commission on the issue of wages to the staff concerned.

CIE estimate that the action yesterday resulted in a loss of €1.2m in lost revenue.
