One dead, six hospitalised after accident

One person has died and six have been taken to hospital following an accident on the main Dublin to Sligo Road in Co Westmeath today.

The accident happened at Coralstown, between Mullingar and Kinnegad in Co Westmeath.

At least some of those taken to hospital are in a serious condition.

Three vehicles were involved in the crash, which happened shortly after 11am.
